Kind of A Love Story, with a Happy Ending!

His heart skipped a beat the minute he saw those huge, soft, brown eyes……. The eyes with a sparkling, mischievous smile, the smile, worth more than a million dollars. It was an official dinner and he was standing surrounded by more than a dozen of dazzling people, but his gaze was fixed on that statuesque figure, every one sort of disappeared…….. and he was swallowed in the depths of those beautiful, thick lashed, dreamy windows of another soul……..

It was nearly midnight and people started to leave………..he watched, mesmerized, that silhouette, walking towards the parking…… the perfect gate……. the best ass he spotted EVER!!

Instead of going back home he decided to drive on the canal road and took a right turn from Mall Road bridge, the midnight traffic of Lahore was bearable, and the sky had a nearly full moon. The RJ on Fm 107 was playing silly tracks from latest Bollywood movies with meaningless lyrics and lousy tunes, he pressed the change button and the soothing voice of Lata and Kishore filled his ears with melody………..

………………Kya Yehi Pyaar Hayy?????

……..he drove, smoked, and tried to shake that image from his head……………. Failing miserably, he returned to his empty house around 2 AM, with a burning desire, an aching heart, and a throbbing hard on.

He was tall, not so dark and very handsome, the most eligible bachelor in the town, on the wrong side of thirty, with salt and pepper temples, a dreamy delicious voice, a hearty laugh, iron board flat stomach and long athletic legs. A keen swimmer, fitness fanatic, hot blooded go getter, with a strong love for all stuff forbidden and every thing beautiful. He was obsessed with pretty hands and long fingers, and that was generally the first thing he noticed.

He loved his solitude and had occasional short term flings, women of all shapes, age, sizes and color ……. drooled over him, and he never cared…… when it came to callings of desire……… he was always spoiled for choice………… After a series of relationships gone horribly wrong, he lost his trust and faith in love, and vowed to never fall for anyone, ever again.

But he also knew that a life without love was a waste, and that day he understood, that love does not need a category, a definition, or any name, Love is a world, either you are in it, in the center, or you are out, yearning for it…………….. he yearned………….. like never before.

He went to office a bit late the next day …..  grouchy ….. grumpy ….. he grabbed a coffee and a glimpse of that un miss- able behind, he could not believe his luck when he was introduced to the new joiner by one of the girls in HR, and the minute their eyes met….. he knew he was smitten……….. badly and madly.

Some vows……are meant to be broken…..

The meeting started and he was more than happy that they sat next to each other, and when accidentally their legs brushed with each other, he forgot whatever he was saying or thinking, all he wanted was the time to stop, and the connection to last……….. and then he spotted a wedding ring, on that hand with perfect fingers and neat, clean and clear nails, the hands that held the pen with an unmatched elegance.

Ahh……… The conspiracies of cupid.

Time passed, seasons changed……… they exchanged ……… numbers…..meaningful glances, seductive naughty smiles, texts, and some late night, lighthearted whattsapp conversations. They looked forward to see each other every morning, and never forgot to compliment. They were aware of their feelings for each other, but were mature enough to handle the situation in a grown up way. They preferred being friends, the world was full of people to fall in love for, the bond they shared was not a common one. They remained the same…………… two lost wandering souls, yearning and longing for each other.

Their feelings grew stronger and deeper…………..And the forbidden fruit was tasted………… On one chilly dark night………

He was fast asleep when his phone rang, and when he saw the caller id, he hoped everything was alright, but the trembling voice at the other end had a different story to tell……..and a confession to make…….

He left the bed, changed, grabbed the car keys and drove to the café Off MM Alam Road where he was asked to come over…. His heart was pounding ………. In less than half an hour he was stepping down the stairs of that not so full uber chic basement seating area with dim lights and a warm comforting smell of coffee, tobacco and cologne.

He saw a lone figure sitting at a low sofa in a corner and moved forward………….. They sat …… silently …… a tear rolled down that cheek, and he felt the ache, the pain …….He wanted to wipe off that drop of salty water with his lips……….  he held the soft hands with no ring, firmly, with a promise to never let go………….

They left together and went to his place …….. the house felt like home ………. he locked the bedroom door and they held each other ……. With trembling hands they stripped the bodies …… and bared the souls………. time stood still, and centuries passed……..the universe witnessed the waltz of two beautiful torsos on the beat of rugged breaths……… ……. They reached new heights, discovered new depths………. bodies glistening with beads of sweat …… …Passion, pleasure, pain and grief…………. it lasted forever and was so brief………….. They forgot the betrayals and the baggage from the past……… met by chance, but they met at last……….……

Entwined, entangled they twisted and twirled………..Words and thoughts just swished and swirled………………… It was an icy November night…. The night so wrong, it felt just right……..

Love Story

They shared the bed and dreams of a future………. He woke up to the aroma of freshly brewed tea, nearly burned toast, musk, and the presence of the “love of his life”…………..

The love of his life who left his wife and child for him……………

Both Men Hugged each other, their faith in love was restored…..

Some love stories do have happy endings!  😉
